Rockin’ the broom

Yay, it’s a sweep!! Series taken by the Celtics 4-0 !!!

Next round, Miami. Oooohhhh, James must be quaking in his boot(ie)s right now. Hahaha!

And, we’re watching the Bruins as they try to clinch the series against the Habs, they’re up 3-2.

And, we’re watching the baseball world right itself, with the Red Sox winning 8 of their last 9.

I love this town. Smile

Now we’re talking

I finally got myself a brand spankin’ new flash unit – a Nissin Di466. This is the first time I bought myself an external flash unit. I’ve always wanted to use natural light, but there are times when a wide aperture just wouldn’t cut it, and the natural light is not enough.

While waiting …

Since moving here to the US in 2006, I’ve pretty much been the one you’ll probably see in our kitchen working. I’ve been pampered back home either by my Mom or our house help – I just come home, and food is available. When i got married, my wife took over the kitchen duties mainly because she comes home earlier than I did.
Anyway, I’ve been wanting to document my kitchen experiments for some time now. I’ve tried to take a picture of some, but I’m not happy with the results of the images. So a few days ago I finally decided to buy an external flash – a Nissin Di466 for my E-PL1. Hopefully, with a few test shots here and there, I can generate some studio-worthy (or at least blog-worthy) product images.
For now, here are some of the experiments I’ve tried. Bon appetit!

Happy on a dreary dreary dreary day

Ah, New England. At your heart beats winter itself.

Since the cold is so reluctant to release its hold (and today has been another dreary day – yes, what’s new), I have had some time to indulge myself in my other great love – reading. I’ve been slogging through Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time, and I’ve just started Book 8. Lots of critics have slammed (and some are still at it!) books 7 – 10, but so far I’m loving the whole series. Nothing bad to say at all.

Probably much like photography: to hell what people think as long as the image speaks to you. And this books speaks very clearly to me.

So why

I have had some form of blog before, but I really didn't have any objective when I did them. More like an outlet of sorts. Now, however, in the hope of making myself better with taking pictures, I am following one advice put forward in one of the many photography forums - bring yourself and your images out there.
However, this I think would revolve much around me, my random thoughts, my family, our occasional travels, but most probably my kids. My world revolves around them, though I hope not at too unhealthy levels.
So this is me (and hopefully my growth) in this new and exciting adventure.
To start off and set the tone, here are some of the images I took which I really like.
